Sleydo’ Molly Wickham and 19 other land defenders were charged with criminal contempt for their peaceful protest and defense of Wet’suwet’en territory. The construction of a fossil fuel pipeline on their land began without the consent of Hereditary Chiefs and their clans, and land defenders like Sleydo’ are being harassed, intimidated and criminalized for protecting their ancestral lands.
